Sober Supportive Housing: Alliance Apartments
In Cooperation with with RS Eden and the Central Community Housing Trust
Completed in 1997 in conjunction with the Central Community Housing Trust and RS Eden, Alliance Apartments was Alliance Housing's first development project. A renovated nursing home, Alliance Apartments provides 124 efficiency apartments for single formerly homeless adults in a sober and supportive environment.
After years of working with homeless adults stuggling with chemical dependency, AHI realized that many of these folks needed sober supportive housing to stay away from drugs and alcohol, find and keep employment and improve their lives. The tennants in the 100 units of permanent and 24 units of transitional housing live in a drug and alcohol free environment with support services provided by RS Eden. The success of this project has led to the successful development of two additional sober supportive housing projects with RS Eden: Portland Village and Central Avenue Apartments.
